MLD is a bodywork technique used to stimulate and flush the lymphatic system. It is not a massage. Rather, light pressure focuses on the superficial tissues of the body where the majority of the lymph system runs. These specific movements direct fluid from the tissues into the lymph nodes where it is washed to rid the body of cellular waste, bacteria, and viruses. In doing so, MLD enhances recovery, decreases inflammation, facilitates drainage, and accelerates tissue repair. It is excellent in the treatment of acne, rosacea, skin and tissue inflammation, TMJ, headaches, puffy eyes, chronic sinus infections, and wound healing.
